We are seeking a skilled Painter-Refinisher to join our team at the Architect of the Capitol. This is a unique opportunity to work on historically significant projects, utilizing your expertise in painting and refinishing techniques.

About the Job

  • This role involves performing complex coating work, including graining, shadowing, and shading colors.
  • You will be responsible for matching and mixing colors by eye or with a tinting machine to match historical and faded colors.
  • Your task will include applying decorative painting techniques to historical ornate designs and preparing new surfaces for finish coats.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have journey-level experience in painting-refinishing work in a historically significant environment requiring meticulous attention to detail.
  • You must be able to pass a drug test and provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
