About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Veterinarian to join our team at Charles River Laboratories. As a Clinical Veterinarian, you will play a critical role in providing top-notch veterinary health care for laboratory animals and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage health care for animals within the facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and industry standards.
  • Perform veterinary rounds, provide clinical care, and preventive medicine support to ensure the health and well-being of laboratory animals.
  • Develop and deliver training for staff on veterinary diagnostics, techniques, and minor surgical procedures.
  • Provide animal health care guidance to veterinary services personnel and participate in internal/external inspections and quality assurance audits.
  • Collaborate with researchers to ensure the highest standards of animal care, health, and welfare, and provide consultation on the planning, conduct, and reporting of studies.
Requirements
  • Veterinary degree (D.V.M./V.M.D.) or international equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of related experience with animal care, with a preference for those with a strong background in laboratory animal medicine.
  • Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in at least one U.S. state required, with the ability to practice in the work state highly desirable.
