Job Details

Regency Integrated Health Services is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Live Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in George West, TX.

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist will conduct assessments and reassessments of rehabilitation needs and potential, developing and implementing individualized therapeutic programs to improve or restore physical functions, sensory-integrative functions, and independence in activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and reassessments of patients' level of function, applying diagnostic and prognostic procedures.
  • Plan, implement, and supervise individualized therapeutic programs to restore physical function, sensory-integrative functions, or independence in activities of daily living.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Rehab Director and other professionals to ensure integration of the therapeutic program in the plan of care.
  • Guide and teach patients in the use of therapeutic, compensatory, creative, and self-care activities to improve function and independence.
  • Observe, record, and report patients' reactions to treatment and any changes in their condition or treatment.
  • Document patients' involvement in decision-making affecting their care.
  • Instruct other agency personnel and patients' family members in certain phases of occupational therapy.
  • Participate in patient case conferences to coordinate the plan of care and promote positive therapeutic outcomes.
  • Participate in continuous assessment and evaluation of the agency through quarterly record reviews and quality assurance/improvement programs.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a curriculum in Occupational Therapy accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Current licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas.
  • Two years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, with two years of experience in home health preferred.
Work Environment

The Occupational Therapist will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, adapting to client status and needs as directed. Schedule changes daily due to client condition and needs, new clients, etc.
