Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN specializing in Medical-Surgical nursing, particularly in the fields of Urology and Nephrology. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing practices and the ability to adapt to various clinical environments.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: BLS and an active Illinois RN license.
  • Additional Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS - AHA Only.
Job Specifications
  • Position/Specialty: Med Surg RN - Urology/Nephrology.
  • Average Daily Patient Census: Bed unit.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in medical/surgical nursing.
  • First-time Travelers: Accepted, provided they have a solid nursing foundation.
  • Floating: Yes, clinicians may float to other Medical Surgical units as needed.
  • Block Scheduling: Open to accommodation, but not guaranteed.
  • Local Candidates: Accepted, with no radius restrictions.
  • Pending Licenses: Not accepted; must possess an active Illinois license.
  • RTO Restrictions: Ideally, no more than 5 days.
  • Guaranteed Hours: Client may cancel up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without compensation for the canceled hours.
Job Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in medical/surgical nursing.
Schedule Information
  • Shift: Days.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
Unit-Specific Skills
  • Professional Knowledge: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac.
  • Respiratory Skills: Chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and more.
  • Software Experience: Cerner.
Additional Skills
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required based on unit/specialty. AHA Only; RQI not accepted.
  • Work Setting Experience: MS/Tele, Med/Surg.
  • Cardiac Monitoring Skills: Telemetry and Rapid Response Teams.
  • Genitourinary/Renal Skills: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure.
  • IV Therapy Skills: Blood Product Administration, Central line management, and more.
  • Medication Skills: Heparin administration.
