We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical Unit at Northwell Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Responsibilities- Assess patients' physiologic health status and develop individualized plans of care.
- Conduct patient interviews, explain policies and procedures, and review patient charts.
- Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status.
- Determine mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses use, and skin condition, and adjust plans of care as needed.
- Communicate and document patients' physiologic health status and plans of care.
- Assess patients' psychosocial health status, elicit perceptions of medical/nursing care, and identify coping mechanisms, knowledge levels, and ability to comprehend.
- Communicate and document psychological status and care plans, including support groups, counseling services, and social services.
- Identify patient outcomes, develop criteria for measurement, and establish individualized patient goals.
- Formulate plans of care, establish priorities, and coordinate cost-effective use of supplies, equipment, and medication.
- Implement plans of care, maintain constant vigilance over patient care, and exercise professional skills related to the plan of care.
- Administer medications correctly and safely, identify medication actions, dosages, side effects, and implications for patients.
- Participate in patient and family education, provide explanations of conditions, and communicate assessment data in an orderly fashion.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and document same.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, required.
- BLS required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
The salary range for this position is $52-$125/hour. Northwell Health is an equal employment opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
