  • Represent the company in court proceedings and hearings related to commercial collections cases, providing expert legal counsel and advocacy.
  • Collaborate with in-house counsel to develop effective legal strategies and provide assistance with legal matters, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to ensure effective case management and resolution.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents pertaining to New York and California commercial collections, ensuring expertise and knowledge in this area.
  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance to in-house counsel and company executives regarding contract-related issues, ensuring informed decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and civil litigation procedures, with a focus on commercial collections.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage a high-volume caseload, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex legal issues.
  • Familiarity with California contract law is a plus, as is experience working with commercial collections cases.
  • Availability to work on a contract basis and handle flexible work hours as needed, ensuring adaptability and flexibility.
