We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team at Eskenazi Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing standard CT procedures on designated sections of the body as required by physician orders.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively contribute to Eskenazi Health's mission by advocating for patient care, teaching, and serving with a focus on the vulnerable population of Marion County.
- Perform standard CT procedures on designated sections of the body as required by physician orders.
- Select proper exposure factors/protocols for each CT procedure and set equipment accordingly.
- Position and instruct patients, utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as needed.
- Assume responsibility for the care and safety of patients undergoing CT procedures.
- Transfer images from file to file/archiving system and perform routine paperwork and scheduling tasks.
- Collaborate with radiologists and managers as needed to ensure seamless operations.
- Restore images from the PAC system and maintain the CT injector.
- Administer IV and oral contrast media as required.
- Alter activities to reflect adequate care appropriate to the age of patients served.
- Train and precept students and new employees.
- Comply with American College of Radiology, Indiana State Department of Health, and The Joint Commission education, license, and certification requirements.
- Demonstrate skills and knowledge acquired through graduation from a Radiologic Technology Program.
- Minimum of one year previous working experience in radiologic technology with emphasis on CT.
- Bachelor of Science degree with a CT major strongly preferred.
- Must be ARRT (CT) or NMTCB (CT) certified and maintain Professional CEU requirements.
- Licensed with the State of Indiana as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Maintain and show proof of current CPR Certification.
- Ability to use age-appropriate communication skills.
- Excellent command of radiologic anatomy and cross-sectional anatomy.
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
- Must demonstrate growth and development knowledge principles over the life span and possess the ability to assess data/interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and cognitive abilities.
- Knowledge of all radiologic equipment with emphasis on the application of CT, drug utilization, contrast media, pressure injectors, technical procedures, and hospital protocols/procedures.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions, handle patient contacts with high tact, and elect proper protocols for all exams.
- Fundamental knowledge of computer applications and working knowledge of the hospital's EHR System and associated programs.
- Ability to display flexibility with changing work duties and priorities, assist in other departmental areas, and observe and perceive changing patient conditions.
