Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Aluminum Fabricator to join our team at Platypus Marine, Inc. in Port Angeles, WA.

This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing aluminum fabrication and welding tasks, including MIG & TIG welding, on marine vessels and ship structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fabrication and Welding Tasks: Perform aluminum fabrication and welding tasks, including MIG & TIG welding, on marine vessels and ship structures.
  • Reading and Interpreting Drawings: Read and interpret constructions drawings, job specifications, and contract specs to obtain weld sizing information and material edge preparation requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform welding inspections to ensure high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment related to the job, including forklifts, hoists, slings, press brakes, shear machine, hydraulic rolls.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of aluminum fabrication and/or welding experience (shipyard or similar environment preferred).
  • Skills: Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques on aluminum materials.
  • Certification: Certification in aluminum welding (preferred but not required).
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting, standing, and working in confined spaces.
