About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced STEM educator to join our team of enrichment providers at Togetherhood. As a STEM educator, you will have the opportunity to create and teach your own STEM/Robotics course to elementary school students at schools across New York City and Hoboken.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop an age-appropriate curriculum for your class, incorporating engaging and interactive learning experiences.
  • Create outcome-based lesson plans that cater to the needs and abilities of your students.
  • Specify the materials and resources required to run the course successfully.
  • Consistently arrive at your class on time and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to help students understand the importance of STEM and its relevance to their lives.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and school administrators to ensure a successful and enjoyable learning experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in teaching STEM subjects to school-age children.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive class community.
  • Experience leading your own classes and developing curriculum.
  • Passion for teaching and personal development/learning.
  • Cooperative, supportive, and flexible attitude.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality education.
  • Clean background check and at least three professional references.
