The MRI Technologist operates MRI equipment to capture detailed images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluation. This role involves providing expert leadership and technical assistance in MRI services, ensuring that all operations meet professional standards while delivering exceptional customer service. Continuous self-improvement and knowledge enhancement in the field, including emerging diseases and procedures, are vital.
This position is per diem, with shifts available from Sunday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and on-call from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, typically involving 12-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities:PRIMARY DUTIES:
(80%) Patient Imaging
- Conducts routine and advanced MRI examinations on specified body areas for physician assessment and treatment of medical conditions, with minimal supervision.
- Evaluates patients prior to the procedure for any necessary precautions or contraindications.
- Prepares patients for MRI scans, clearly explaining the process and positioning them for optimal imaging.
- Adjusts scanning parameters as required to ensure high-quality images.
- Maintains a positive and collaborative atmosphere with radiologists, referring offices, and colleagues.
- Engages with physicians, nurses, patients, and their families as needed.
- Adheres strictly to physician directives and safety protocols to safeguard patients and staff.
- Maintains accurate records in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Ensures a clean and organized workspace, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
- Upholds ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
(15%) Departmental Support
- Ensures all equipment is well-maintained and properly sanitized after each use.
- Assists in updating the MRI protocol manual and implementing software enhancements.
- Monitors and manages medical supply inventory.
- Supports the training of new staff, offering guidance and technical knowledge.
(5%) Additional Duties
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
