Responsibilities
The Nursing Education department is looking for qualified part-time instructors to teach nursing courses. Teaching assignments may encompass any curriculum-approved courses within the nursing discipline.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
  1. A Master's degree in nursing.
  2. Current license or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in California.
  3. At least one year of professional experience providing direct patient care as a bedside RN within the last five years in areas such as medical-surgical, geriatrics, obstetrics, pediatrics, and/or psychiatric mental health nursing.
  4. Eligibility for approval as an instructor by the California State Board of Nursing.
Only coursework completed at accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will be considered for meeting the minimum qualifications. Transcripts from institutions outside the U.S. must be evaluated for equivalency by an appropriate U.S. credentials evaluation service.

Supervision
Part-time faculty members will receive guidance from the Division Dean and direction from the Department Chair.

Employment Terms
Part-time faculty members are not to exceed a load of 67%. Selected candidates will be required to complete pre-employment requirements, including live scan/fingerprinting, official transcripts, TB risk assessment, and employment verification. Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements is mandatory for eligibility for employment.
