Job Summary:
Orthopaedic Surgical Associates (OSA) is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join its dynamic team in Massachusetts. The successful candidate will work closely with a busy orthopedic spine surgeon in the operating room and clinic, providing exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical exams, obtain medical histories, and record findings
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic procedures to determine diagnosis and treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians to manage acute and long-term medical needs of patients
- Assist with surgical procedures, including tissue retraction and suturing
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
- Administer medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines
- Educate patients on health and illness prevention, surgical procedures, and expectations
- Support patient safety initiatives and adhere to applicable standards
- Triage patient calls and provide consultation as necessary
- Conduct post-operative evaluations and perform administrative duties
Requirements:
- Board certification as a Physician Assistant
- Massachusetts licensure
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
