Neurology Nurse Practitioner Position

About the Job:
The Arora Group is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Portsmouth, Virginia. As a Nurse Practitioner-Neurology, you will work at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, providing high-quality care to patients with neurological conditions. This is a full-time position, with services required Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, between the hours of 7AM and 6PM.
Responsibilities:
* Perform a full range of duties consistent with your labor category, education, training, experience, and clinical privileges.
* Treat and evaluate patients with headaches, providing clinical care and working under the oversight of a neurologist.
* Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
* Order diagnostic tests as applicable.
* Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
* Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
* Formulate a healthcare plan for patients and modify the plan as needed.
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in nursing or higher.
* Minimum two years of full-time experience within the last three years as a Nurse Practitioner working in adult, family, or medical/surgical outpatient setting.
* Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
* Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse.
* U.S. Citizen (for access to Government computer systems).
* BLS is required.
