Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher Early Intervention Specialist to join our team at Delaware County Intermediate Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an appropriate individualized program in the least restrictive environment for each student to support the instructional process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with other teachers, related service providers, and administrators to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student instruction and support.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in the classroom and other assigned areas.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education.
- Dual certification in special education and content area(s) preferred.
- Ability to work effectively and regularly with a computer and computer programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to function independently.
- Flexible and reliable.
- Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
