Position Summary

This role involves overseeing the maintenance program for transmission lines within the designated area. The Transmission Line Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for managing capital and maintenance work orders, coordinating necessary materials, and supervising inspection programs and contractors. Key responsibilities include data management, collaboration with various departments, and leading repair operations on transmission lines and related equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong team spirit, exceptional customer service skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct daily operations of the transmission line maintenance team.
  • Develop and implement the maintenance work plan for transmission lines.
  • Ensure compliance with company specifications and standards during all maintenance activities.
  • Aim for zero operational incidents while meeting performance goals.
  • Monitor and manage operational and capital budgets effectively.
  • Assist crews with unique clearance requests and specialized equipment needs.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and maintain accurate documentation of transmission line conditions.
  • Investigate outages and operational events to determine root causes and ensure efficient restoration methods.
  • Engage with external stakeholders and coordinate with contract crews to ensure adherence to standards and schedules.
  • Participate in planning and pre-construction meetings for capital projects.
  • Foster a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil preferred).
Experience:
  • Experience in transmission line maintenance, design, or construction is preferred.
  • Familiarity with distribution systems is a plus.
  • Ability to respond effectively to outages and support restoration efforts.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of transmission line maintenance practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in reading civil and construction drawings.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with relevant software applications.
