Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical First Assist to join our team at NavitsPartners. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterilized and ready for the procedure.
  • Assist in patient positioning, draping, and prepping for surgery.
  • Review the patient's medical history and ensure readiness for the surgical procedure.
  • Act as the primary assistant to the surgeon during operations, performing tasks such as providing exposure, controlling bleeding, suturing, and closing surgical wounds.
  • Utilize retractors, sponges, and other instruments to support the surgeon during procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure, ensuring all surgical instruments and supplies are handled properly.
  • Assist in emergency situations by responding quickly and effectively to the surgeon's needs.
  • Help with patient transfer to the recovery area, ensuring all surgical wounds are dressed and secured.
  • Assist in documenting the procedure and maintaining detailed records of patient care during surgery.
  • Monitor the patient's recovery post-surgery, providing follow-up care as needed.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) through an accredited program.
  • Active CSFA certification and meet the requirements for working in Michigan.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical First Assist, specifically in the OR setting.
  • Proficiency in assisting with complex surgical procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and managing pre- and post-operative patient care.
