About the Role

AAR Corp. is a leading global aerospace and defense aftermarket solutions company seeking a highly skilled Senior Aerospace Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing complex engineering products, processes, or equipment, including specifications and assembly and manufacturing methods sequence, for company products and or manufacturing and assembly equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently to gather data and input on the development of original designs or adaptations of existing designs after having been given general instructions regarding purpose and parameters.
  • Prepare and present preliminary drawings, sketches, or diagrams reflecting basic concept in order to obtain confirmation of approach, concept, and or technique.
  • Conduct presentations with suppliers, customers, and various internal departments to obtain input on, agreement with, and understanding of project objectives and schedules.
  • Supervise detailers in the accomplishment of projects or assignments.
  • Participate in the initial studies and cost estimates for proposed projects and suggest changes to facilitate manufacture and assembly.
  • Prepare bill of materials and standards or specifications and participate in the development of project budgets, schedules, and release dates.
  • May be required to travel.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support the PMA Group as the principal CAD developer.
  • Train other engineers in CAD.
  • Maintain the CAD system to support development effort through software upgrades, equipment, maintenance, and filing system.
  • Create the complex CAD drawing which requires intermediate to expert skill level.
  • Create and assist in the development of inspection plans for first article inspection and product assurance inspection.
  • Perform reverse engineering on complex engine, aircraft, and component parts in order to replicate and or improve the design leading to manufacturing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) or Bachelor of Science degree (BS) from a four-year college or university or eight years related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the field.
