Job Title: Interior Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our team at Florida State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and monitoring the construction and interior alteration/renovation of University buildings.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop preliminary and final construction drawings and specifications for review and approval by the Architect Supervisor.
  • Coordinate preparation of related probable cost statements and interior design work with architectural and engineering support consultants.
  • Prepare interior furniture and equipment selections and finishes in accordance with client department requirements.
  • Verify existing physical conditions at project sites and inspect and issue inspection reports of progress and completed work.
  • Develop building programs as needed to define the scope of related projects and review building and life safety code requirements.
  • Manage interior design product and finish system references and sample library, and supervise Interior Design Interns in related tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and two years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.
  • A valid State of Florida Class E, or Georgia driver's license, or the ability to obtain upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in interior design and a license as an interior designer or a Bachelor's degree in architecture. Minimum two years' experience designing renovation and/or remodel projects under the direction of a licensed Interior Designer and/or licensed Architect.
