Job Summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform and/or assist with radiographic, DEXA exams fluoroscopic, and angiographic procedures according to department procedure manual.

Key Responsibilities
  • Information Processing & Image Review: Manage electronic data, process information (subtraction or other digital manipulation) for interpretation, review exam for proper positioning, technique, identification, and record required information.
  • Instruction: Instruct radiology students and/or new staff according to clinical and department requirements; assist in the orientation of department and hospital personnel with emphasis on radiation safety.
  • Maintenance & Safety Checks: Perform visual maintenance and quality controls checks, record and report results to appropriate personnel, identify problems and communicate them to immediate supervisor, take appropriate corrective action when necessary, and offer solutions as appropriate.
  • Maintenance of Supplies: Ensure an adequate inventory of supplies, linens, and accessories.
  • Exam Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule examinations.
  • Medication Administration: Initiate intravenous access for the administration of contrast and/or radio pharmaceutical isotopes; access patency; understand emergency procedures in the event of extravasations and/or allergic response.
Requirements
  • Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification.
  • ARRT radiology certification or will acquire within 12 months of employment.
  • Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross), and renewal required every two years.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize concurrent responsibilities and demands.
  • Ability to assess patients' conditions and request assistance when necessary.
  • Ability to assist in the movement of patient to and from wheelchairs, carts and radiographic tables.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of radiology technologist experience preferred.
  • Proficient in email and word processing systems.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
