Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to serve as a Shift Supervisor in our nursing team. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing nursing activities, ensuring appropriate nursing staff coverage during the assigned shift, and providing leadership and guidance to nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee nursing activities, including comprehensive physical assessments, health screenings, and treatments
- Ensure appropriate nursing staff coverage during the assigned shift, making adjustments as needed
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including direct care RNs and LVNs
- Respond to emergency situations, providing assessment and ensuring safety and care of individuals and staff
- Perform complex nursing work, including comprehensive physical assessments and care intervention
- Develop and present information for inservice training or staff development
- Communicate with other disciplines, including direct care staff, physicians, and administration
- Current RN licensure in the state of Texas
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting
- Experience in leadership or supervisory role preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and productively with all levels of staff
- Ability to make decisions and recommendations to leadership
This position may be eligible to earn additional pay for work performed on evenings, nights, and/or weekends. The Shift Supervisor will be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, a rotating schedule, extended shift, and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of nursing techniques, standards, and procedures
- Knowledge of health care laws and regulations
- Knowledge of medical diagnoses and procedures
- Knowledge of community health and nursing care principles, practices, and procedures
- Ability to provide patient care, prepare and maintain records, and organize, coordinate, and evaluate nursing activities
- Ability to interpret policies and procedures, interpret health care regulations, and recognize patterns of medical necessity treatment
