Diesel Mechanic Technician III

To ensure the safety and reliability of Sysco's fleet, we are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician III to perform quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, refrigeration systems, and other complex vehicle components.
Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units, to ensure they are in good working condition.
Diagnose and repair complex issues with electrical systems, including wiring, circuit boards, and electrical motors.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on refrigeration units, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
Work with the fleet manager to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the fleet is running efficiently and safely.
Mentor and train junior technicians to develop their skills and knowledge.
Perform other duties as assigned by the fleet manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2-year degree in a related field or 4 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
ASE certifications in medium/heavy duty trucks and refrigeration systems.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Conditions
The Diesel Mechanic Technician III will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to mechanical parts, tools, and equipment.
The associate will be required to work in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity.
The associate will be required to lift and move heavy equipment and tools, up to 100 pounds.
The associate will be required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
The associate will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and a hard hat.
Physical Demands
The Diesel Mechanic Technician III will be required to stand, walk, and move frequently throughout the workday.
The associate will be required to lift and move heavy equipment and tools, up to 100 pounds.
The associate will be required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
The associate will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and a hard hat.
Ability to Perform Repetitive Motion
The Diesel Mechanic Technician III will be required to perform repetitive motion tasks, including wrenching and hand tool use.
