Pharmacy Technician

Actalent is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Washington, D.C.
About the Role:As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications to patients. You will perform designated technical functions to facilitate pharmacy operations, including preparing oral, topical, and parenteral medications for dispensing, selecting and labeling pharmaceuticals, and filling medication carts.
Responsibilities:- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients
- Perform technical functions to facilitate pharmacy operations, including preparing medications and filling medication carts
- Enter physician orders into the hospital computer system to update patient profiles and charges
- Assist patients, nurses, physicians, and others with medication order requests and pharmacy-related needs
- Monitor stock inventory levels and medication expiration dates for pharmacy areas and replenish medications as needed
- Conduct monthly/periodic inspections of patient care/department areas
- Fills and replaces medications in automated medication dispensing machines and transports to appropriate nursing unit(s)
- Prepare IV admixtures using aseptic techniques, including STATS, parenteral nutrition bags, and cytotoxic agents
- Deliver and retrieve medications, including narcotics, and pharmacy supplies to/from patient care and satellite pharmacy areas
- Complete and maintain controlled substance inventory log/records
- DC Pharmacy Technician License Required
- At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience
- Hospital Experience preferred but not required
