Position Overview

The California Department of Aging is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Health Program Manager II. This pivotal position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Office of the Long-Term Care Patient Representative (OLTCPR) under the guidance of the Assistant Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team comprising Health Program Specialists I, Staff Service Managers, and a Staff Service Analyst.
  • Ensure effective public patient representation for residents in skilled nursing and intermediate care facilities.
  • Communicate proficiently with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills pertinent to the role, while adhering to departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Applicants must submit a completed application, resume, and a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) to be considered for this role. New candidates will typically start at the minimum salary for the classification.

Working Conditions:

  • This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for telework up to three days a week, in accordance with state policies.
  • The role requires sitting for extended periods while utilizing a personal computer and participating in meetings, both digital and in-person.
  • Occasional statewide travel may be necessary, up to 20% of the time.

Special Requirements:

Successful candidates must pass a background investigation prior to employment. Additionally, adherence to the Conflict of Interest Code is mandatory.
