Rehabilitation Nurse Leader

As a Charge Nurse at University Hospitals Rehabilitation Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of dedicated healthcare professionals. Our hospital is committed to delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to patients with complex medical needs.
Responsibilities- Assume charge of the nursing department after hours, on weekends, and on holidays, ensuring continuity of care and reporting pertinent information to management and administration.
- Conduct regular assessments of all departments to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize patient safety and reduce medical errors.
- Communicate effectively with staff, management, and administration to address unusual occurrences or complaints, and intervene promptly when necessary.
- Ensure that nursing staff perform all aspects of patient care in a safe and effective manner, with a focus on reducing medical errors and improving patient outcomes.
- Monitor and document medical records, including documentation of medical necessity, and ensure that staff complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan as needed.
- Review and evaluate risk and quality indicators, patient satisfaction results, and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance performance and outcomes.
- Provide education and training to nursing staff on Quality Indicators (QIs) and ensure timely and accurate QI assessments and scoring.
- Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program with current licensure in the state. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
- Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a rehabilitative or acute care setting, with demonstrated leadership ability.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
