Job Title: Loader/Dozer Operator

At First Rate Excavate, we are seeking a skilled Loader/Dozer Operator to join our team. As a key member of our excavation crew, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently to ensure the successful completion of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operate bulldozers and other heavy equipment to perform earthmoving activities.
  2. Cut ditches, slopes, and grades, and clear brush and other debris.
  3. Maintain accurate grades using machine-mounted lasers and GPS technology.
  4. Set up and operate rotating laser equipment to ensure precise grading.
  5. Read and understand grade stakes, perform arithmetic, and other basic functions to determine grade.
  6. Work in a high-production environment for extended periods, maintaining a safe and efficient pace.
  7. Operate loaders of various sizes and weights to load and unload materials and supplies.
  8. Operate trucks and other construction equipment, including backhoes, road graders, front-end loaders, hydraulic excavators, and skid steers.
  9. Perform routine inspection and maintenance on assigned equipment, referring defects or repairs to the supervisor.
  10. Assist crews in digging, hoisting material, tools, and equipment, and perform other related tasks.
  11. Perform all duties in conformance with safety and security standards.
  12. Attend regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry best practices and company policies.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience operating medium and heavy equipment.
  3. GPS grading experience a plus.

Work Environment:

This position requires regular work in outdoor weather conditions. The physical demands of this job include standing, talking, listening, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Travel:

Local travel to various worksites is required, with some out-of-town work possible.
