Harrison Steel Castings Co. is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to join our first aid team during the third shift (10pm-6am). This role is crucial for addressing all medical and injury-related incidents that arise on company premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medical assistance to employees experiencing illness or injury while on duty.
- Collaborate with the Plant Response Organization (PRO) to provide emergency medical care to injured individuals, including the safe removal of victims from accident scenes.
- Act as the lead emergency medical technician, assessing the nature and severity of injuries or illnesses to determine appropriate first aid measures and the necessity for additional medical services, including ambulance transport.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all employees receiving medical treatment, both in-house and at external medical facilities.
- Complete necessary accident documentation for workers' compensation claims.
- Adhere to established job instructions and training protocols.
- Conduct post-incident and reasonable cause drug and alcohol screenings.
Additional Responsibilities:
The first aid personnel also serve as security staff, which includes duties such as patrolling the facility, managing phone inquiries, providing directions, checking in visitors and vehicles, monitoring safety alarms, and ensuring cleanliness in the main gate area.
Required Certifications:
- Valid Emergency Medical Technician certification or equivalent First Responder/Firefighter certification. Acceptable certifications include EMT-A, B, P, or I, with the expectation to obtain certification within twelve months of employment.
- CPR Level C certification.
