About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in a dynamic educational setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and dedicated professional to make a real difference in the lives of students.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and coordination of occupational therapy programs in an elementary and/or secondary educational setting. This will include collaborating with teachers and other staff members to ensure student safety and providing guidance and support to students as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate students by observing their movements, performing standardized tests, and listening to their concerns to establish an individualized plan of care.
  • Provide competent care to students, using exercises, stretching, equipment, modalities, and hands-on therapy to manage pain, increase mobility, and prevent further injury.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with the rehabilitation team, physicians, and other disciplines to ensure continuity of care.
  • Document all patient care in accordance with department policies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

Requirements

  • Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) School Occupational Therapist certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university.
  • Great communication skills with parents, students, and team members.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience; experience working with Limited English Proficient students preferred.
  • Initial certification by the National Board for Occupational Therapy.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

Benefits

  • $60-$68 per hour salary range.
  • 1,000 sign-on bonus.
  • Elementary and middle school site-based contract through the 2024/2025 school year.
  • 37.5 to 40 hours per week contract following the academic district calendar.
