Job Overview

MEDIKO INC is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality medical care to the communities we serve.

About the Role

  • Work closely with our center's physician in providing proper medical care for patients
  • Schedule dental and medical appointments per Physician's orders
  • Provide emergency medical assistance
  • Conduct medical history interviews and prepare medical history and physical reports
  • Assist the center's Physician in conducting sick call
  • Administer medicine dosage and treatment per Physician's orders
  • Maintain control of all medications and drugs on hand in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Ensure that policies and procedures regarding the Medical Department are followed
  • Complete reports and medical forms
  • Ensure medical office is clean and properly stocked, and all medications and supplies are promptly ordered
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Completion of an Accredited Nursing Program leading to licensure with the ability to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • High school graduate or equivalent, and must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
  • Active, unencumbered state/commonwealth Licensed Practical Nurse license
  • Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience, preferably in a correctional center
  • Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved)
  • Combination of education and experience equivalent to these qualifications may be substituted
