We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and positive pressure breathing.
- Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analyses, and report results according to hospital policy.
- Perform chest physiotherapy to mobilize secretions and assist with patient care.
- Assist with mechanical ventilation and airway management, and respond to emergency situations.
- Participate in physician consultations and recommendations regarding respiratory therapeutic modalities.
- Provide patient education and support, and document patient information and treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient care and communication.
- Associate Degree from an approved NBRC Program
- Current CPR (BLS) OR ACLS required from an Accredited Institution by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the State of New Jersey
- Effective oral and written communication skills to express ideas clearly
- Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
- Ability to function competently in stressful situations and the changing work environment related to changing patient needs
- One to two years experience in all forms of Respiratory Therapy
