Job Overview

Position Details:

Hours: 80 hours per pay period, Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with occasional on-call duties as required.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a Food Service Management role is essential.

Role Summary: The Food Services Assistant Manager will support the Food Services Director in executing departmental operations, policies, and procedures, as well as overseeing the food service program within the Food Services Department. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in staff management, including training and orientation.
  • Overseeing purchasing and inventory management of food and supplies.
  • Supervising cooks and food service aides, assigning daily tasks, and managing schedules.
  • Engaging with a diverse range of employees and clientele, emphasizing effective communication and customer service.

The Assistant Manager may also perform duties as a Cook or Food Service Aide as needed. The hours of work will be determined by the Food Services Director based on operational requirements.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, or three years of relevant food service experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience that aligns with the responsibilities of the role. Management experience is preferred.

Experience working with a geriatric population is advantageous.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to align with the values and mission of the School Sisters of St. Francis and the organization.

Proficiency in computer systems and software used in the Food Services Department, as well as internet skills including email communication, is required.

Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating, supervising, managing, and training staff to achieve departmental goals.

Certifications:

Serv-Safe certification is mandatory.

Compensation:

Starting pay is $20.35+ per hour, commensurate with experience.
