Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Clinician-Resource to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the development of a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and assess patient healthcare data, utilizing innovative strategies to direct the interdisciplinary team and patient/family to identify a plan of care and outcomes that are realistic and measurable.
  • Lead interventions in the coordination of patient care, applying principles of assignment and delegation consistent with the NY State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Educate the patient/family regarding health status and established plan of care, determining learning needs and implementing an educational plan.
  • Evaluate the patient's progress towards expected outcomes, involving the patient/family and interdisciplinary team in the evaluation process.
  • Coordinate and direct unit activities to create a healing, humane, and caring environment through innovative activities.
  • Lead unit projects to improve unit throughput efficiencies and metrics.
  • Comply with unit-based and organizational professional standards, New York State Nurse Practice Act, and regulations of relevant outside agencies.
  • Analyze delegation practices to ensure activities are followed through.
  • Comply with annual education and mandatory/regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a support, resource, and preceptor for nursing staff and students.
  • Engage in self-assessment and peer review, utilizing resources to meet individual learning needs and promote professional development in clinical practice.
  • Adhere to patient care and nursing standards in care delivery, utilizing clinical practice guidelines (CPG).
  • Volunteer to lead unit practice councils (UPC) activities, utilizing the practice council structure to critically appraise and influence practice.
  • Lead improvement efforts to achieve organizational goals within the quality and safety performance improvement plan (QSPIP) and outperform benchmarks for nurse-sensitive quality indicators.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
  • Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills.
  • REQUIRED LICENSES: Registered Nurse License-NYS.
