We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanic with a strong background in the maintenance and repair of medium-duty trucks and various small machinery. This is an opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing outdoor maintenance firms in the nation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Project and Fleet Managers to evaluate equipment requirements and diagnose repair issues using cost-effective methods.
- Oversee and schedule preventative maintenance and repair tasks.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and labor hours for each piece of equipment.
- Adhere to monthly and annual budget constraints for the shop.
- Conduct mechanical repairs utilizing standard hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Identify equipment malfunctions and implement proactive maintenance strategies for the fleet.
- Operate service vehicles for on-site repairs as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop and office environments.
- Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Over 5 years of experience in servicing medium-duty trucks and arbor-specific machinery.
- Familiarity with equipment such as aerial lifts, wood chippers, skid steers, and ATVs.
- Extensive experience in engine repairs for brands like International, Cummins, and Cat.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software to troubleshoot engine, hydraulic, electrical, or electronic issues.
- The ability to manage workload effectively in warm weather conditions for extended periods.
- Capability to order necessary parts as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of arbor and small equipment, including safe operating procedures for aerial lifts and wood chippers.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong critical thinking and multitasking abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and internal systems.
- A valid Driver's License (CDL preferred) and compliance with company driver eligibility standards.
