Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Director, Nuclear Medicine Technologists prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. They utilize efficient and safe processes to perform related technological functions, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality of patient care. This role may involve directing and checking the work of other Nuclear Medicine Technologists.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform diagnostic studies on patients, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce images of organs on photographic film.
  2. Prepare stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses under the supervision of a physician.
  3. Measure radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors, and calibrate equipment.
  4. Follow radiation safety techniques for the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
  5. Direct and check the work of other Nuclear Medicine Technologists.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years continuous recent experience in nuclear medicine.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all procedures and processes as determined by the employer.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Education and Certifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Nuclear Medicine Technologist or equivalent.
