### Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Registered Nurse in our Mental Health department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to our nation's veterans.

### Responsibilities

* Provide patient-centered and recovery-oriented care to clients with mental health conditions
* Facilitate shift reports and nurse-led psychoeducational groups
* Use therapeutic communication techniques, practice de-escalation techniques, and utilize recovery-oriented language
* Coordinate and actively participate in mental health interdisciplinary treatment teams
* Document nursing assessments, nursing plans of care, patient safety observations, and environmental safety rounds in accordance with facility policy

### Qualifications

* English Language Proficiency
* Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
* Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia

### Preferred Experience

* Minimum of 3 years of Behavioral Health experience
* 1-3 years of experience working with veterans with severe mental illness
* Must have unencumbered license
