Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at South Peninsula Hospital. As a member of our Long Term Care (LTC) department, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for residents
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and oversee the care provided by assigned staff
  • Monitor and coordinate care to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations
  • Participate in the development and implementation of resident care plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Provide education and support to residents and their families, and maintain open communication with the healthcare team
Requirements
  • Current license to practice as a LPN or RN in the State of Alaska
  • Minimum of one year experience in Gerontology, preferably in a Long Term Care facility
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Ability to lift and move residents as needed, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Work Environment

South Peninsula Hospital is a 22-bed critical access hospital and 28-bed skilled LTC facility located on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. The position requires walking and standing for prolonged periods, and the ability to lift and move residents as needed. Mechanical lifts are available for lifting residents as needed. Working hours may fluctuate based on the demands of the work and scheduling needs.
