The main objective of this role is to produce RxD dispersions at the manufacturing facility.


The Production Operator is accountable for executing all production tasks while adhering to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), quality, and corporate standards, ensuring a right-first-time approach.

The operator is autonomously responsible for manufacturing operations and priorities, completing all necessary training programs, maintaining accurate documentation within the department (such as Standard Operating Procedures and process logs), and effectively collaborating with fellow operators, supervision, and other departments.

Additionally, the Production Operator will conduct routine cleanouts and equipment changeovers, monitor in-process and post-batch data, and manage the process control systems to ensure efficient plant operations.

A solid comprehension of process chemistry and equipment, including the ability to analyze potential issues, is essential for producing high-quality dispersions safely and cost-effectively.


The Production Operator achieves these objectives while fostering a culture of involvement, continuous improvement, EHS compliance, and right-first-time manufacturing within the operations team.

This role reports to the Work Station Manager for RxD.

The Production Operators will be required to work rotating shifts to support continuous manufacturing operations. Besides the outlined responsibilities, the position may necessitate performing additional tasks as directed by management.

operates a manufacturing facility where aqueous dyes, RxD, and inks are produced to support the InkJet digital printing market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate the production unit in accordance with site, company, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with the manufacturing team to achieve business objectives and targets.
  • Monitor operational performance to maintain or enhance quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Actively engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives, particularly 5S practices, during regular operations. Ensure personal compliance with all training and assist team members in doing the same.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and contribute to their accuracy and relevance through effective communication of operator feedback.
  • Follow the company's established Quality, Safety, and Environmental management systems and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the manufacturing team to uphold the principles of Operational Discipline, including questioning attitude, knowledge level, and integrity.
  • Maintain a strong focus on personal and team safety performance, understanding key performance indicators (KPIs) and responding proactively to any issues.
  • Log and participate in investigations of near misses or incidents to identify root causes and opportunities for improvement.

It is highly encouraged to receive training as an Emergency Coordinator/Contact to manage emergency situations (injuries, spills, fires, etc.).

Production Delivery:

  • Be adaptable and responsive to ensure adequate resources are available at all times to meet production demands.
  • Remain fully trained and validated in all operational areas, following defined training paths and seeking additional training proactively.
  • Participate as necessary during plant outages to complete production maintenance tasks, preventive maintenance, and projects.
  • Identify and communicate daily maintenance needs to ensure a safe and efficient operation by submitting work orders as required.
  • Engage in Continuous Improvement programs to propose enhancements to optimize production processes.
  • Manufacture products right the first time to meet quality standards.
  • Report any equipment issues to relevant functions for prompt action to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Understand key manufacturing costs to remain within budgetary constraints.
  • Actively seek opportunities to enhance plant performance, minimize waste, and reduce costs through participation in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Minimize waste of raw materials, utilities, and finished products by adhering to established SOPs and guidelines.
  • Accurately report material consumption.

Experience Requirements:
Essential:
  • 2-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a chemical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new processes and operate them independently and accurately.
  • Strong understanding of EHS requirements related to chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience with Standard Work Processes and Operational Discipline Principles.
  • Good knowledge of GMP concerning printing ink and dispersion manufacturing.
  • Solid foundation in Continuous Improvement tools and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proven teamwork skills and proactive actions.
  • Effective conflict management skills, with a proactive approach to addressing issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational abilities.
  • Basic mathematical skills for process instructions to ensure accurate raw material additions.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize automation systems such as PLC and HMI panels.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office and other computer tools for documentation and data management.
Desirable:
  • Understanding of Quality Systems and ISO registrations.
  • Experience in batch production.
  • Familiarity with process control and HMI usage.
  • Experience with mechanical equipment such as pumps, filters, mills, and centrifuges.
