PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install electrical supply wiring and conduits for newly installed machinery and equipment, including robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
- Connect power supply wires to various machines and equipment, ensuring proper connections between devices.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, replacing any damaged wires and cables.
- Test malfunctioning machinery and collaborate with relevant personnel to identify issues.
- Troubleshoot PLC programming and various communication formats.
- Replace defective electrical components, including relays, switches, motors, and sensors.
- Diagnose and repair or replace faulty components, such as printed circuit boards.
- Replace electric motor bearings and perform rewiring of motors.
- Plan the layout of wiring and install electrical devices and conduits in buildings.
- Work with 480V 3 Phase electricity and high voltage systems up to 138KV.
- Possess knowledge of the National Electric Code, OSHA regulations, and NFPA standards regarding arc flash safety.
- May be required to install or remove non-electrical components while addressing specific issues.
- Exhibit flexibility in work schedule, including being on call, working weekends, and overtime as necessary.
- Provide support and guidance to cross-functional team members.
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Journeyman electrician certification or a Journeyman Electrical License with a formal reciprocity agreement with Texas, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in troubleshooting and repairing machine controls.
- At least 3 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machine controls.
- Familiarity with press mechanics and auxiliary equipment.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the electrical trade.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Capability to work in diverse environments and conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to regularly lift 40 lbs.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. WIS is committed to fair and equitable compensation that supports our employees and their families. Individuals meeting our minimum education and experience requirements will be compensated at the midpoint of the salary range for their position.
