As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma donations. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, conduct medical history interviews, and review laboratory test results to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
- Conduct medical history interviews and physical examinations to assess donor suitability
- Review laboratory test results, including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE), to ensure donor safety
- Evaluate donor reactions and respond accordingly, following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
