Job Summary:

The Artificial Intelligence Analyst will play a pivotal role in harnessing advanced data science to drive the development of AI solutions across the SUNY Upstate Medical University.

This position involves collaborating with multiple teams to review external AI solutions, develop in-house tools, and implement, optimize, and closely monitor the product's life cycle.

This role will work closely with the AI Governance Lead to ensure implementation aligns with the university's mission, vision, and values, as well as all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with teams throughout the university to evaluate and implement AI and automation solutions
  • Lead the development of in-house AI and machine learning
  • Identify trustworthy AI and automation solutions to recommend best practices in process improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance and address potential gaps
  • Work closely with leadership to ensure project objectives align with organizational goals
  • Create and maintain documentation toward explainable AI (XAI) to develop models that are transparent, interpretable, and understandable for individuals who may interact with the systems
  • Deliver projects while working with multiple and diverse teams
  • Maintain data definitions, adhere to data quality rules, and maintain data lineage
  • Maintain a data dictionary
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field or data-driven area of study, and three years of relevant data science-related experience
  • Strong background in machine learning, natural language processing, and data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with healthcare data (clinical, claims, etc.) is highly desirable
  • Experience in analytical and problem-solving and exposure to large volume data systems is preferred
Work Arrangements:

Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
