Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery will be responsible for providing direct patient care to women in labor and childbirth, as well as supporting the care of newborns. This includes monitoring the baby's heart rate and mother's blood pressure, administering medications and epidurals, and identifying and assisting with complications.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to women in labor and childbirth, including monitoring the baby's heart rate and mother's blood pressure.
  • Administer medications and epidurals as prescribed by physicians.
  • Identify and assist with complications, such as fetal distress or maternal hemorrhage.
  • Support the care of newborns, including assisting with breastfeeding and providing emotional support to new mothers.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in labor and delivery care.
Requirements:
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Maintains NRP certification.
  • 2 years of RN experience in specialty.
  • Ability to perform all competencies of the position.
