Job OverviewAs a Scenic Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in the construction, load-in, and strike of scenic pieces for productions. This position requires strong carpentry, metal working, and tool usage skills. Experience with rigging, theatrical settings, and drafting is a plus. You will work closely with the Production Manager and Technical Director, and may be required to work weekends and evenings. The position involves lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs, either alone or with a team.Key Responsibilities
- Construct and install scenic pieces for productions
- Assist with load-in and strike of scenic pieces
- Collaborate with the Production Manager and Technical Director to ensure smooth production
- Develop and maintain strong carpentry, metal working, and tool usage skills
- Participate in rigging, theatrical settings, and drafting as needed
Requirements
- Strong carpentry, metal working, and tool usage skills
- Experience with rigging, theatrical settings, and drafting is a plus
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs, either alone or with a team
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Availability to work weekends and evenings as needed
