Job Summary

InsideHigherEd seeks a visionary and dynamic executive to serve as its next Chief Information Officer (CIO). This is a unique opportunity to help transform and grow a leading education technology company through leveraging technology in support of the institution's strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute IT Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap that aligns with InsideHigherEd's mission and strategic goals. Focus on enhancing internal processes, driving engagement with all university members, and positioning the organization as a leader in digital education.
  • Lead IT Operations: Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of enterprise information systems to support research, teaching, and administrative operations.
  • Build and Nurture Relationships: Build and nurture a strong relationship within and outside the organization through effective leadership, proactive collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team and ensure high-quality IT support and services.
  • Model Diversity and Inclusion: Model a consistent commitment to InsideHigherEd's principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Drive Digital Innovation: Drive digital innovation and transformation initiatives that leverage emerging technologies to enhance business operations and competitive advantage.
  • Optimize IT Resources: Optimize the use of operating and capital resources to ensure cost-effective IT operations.
  • Develop Sustainable Budget Models: Develop sustainable budget models for IT initiatives and manage financial resources efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field required or, equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: Ten-plus years of progressive management experience in IT within large, complex organizations, preferably in a highly matrixed healthcare or academic environment with distributed IT resources.
  • Leadership Skills: Collaborative – a consensus-driven leader who works through influence and involves the right constituents to effect change.
