Job Summary:
As an Echocardiography Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, you will perform cardiac ultrasonic procedures, obtaining necessary images and preparing studies for interpretation by cardiologists. You will review data, confer with medical personnel regarding results, and review medical records to identify significant medical history to anticipate possible impacts on tests. Additionally, you will perform other related duties.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Performs echocardiogram procedures, utilizing ultrasound modalities to visualize cardiac structures, prosthesis, and pertinent arterial and venous anatomy and flow of blood.
2. Obtains patient history and records information in patient charts.
3. Positions patients and manipulates equipment to obtain desired quality and quantity of images for cardiologists' diagnostic interpretation.
4. Confirms or excludes all possible primary and/or secondary findings based on provided clinical information.
5. Records/documents, edits, and calculates.
6. Assists physicians with transesophageal echograms procedures.
7. Adjusts and sets-up equipment, checks functionality, sterilizes probes, orders, and maintains supplies.
8. Performs minor adjustments on ultrasonic equipment and arranges service for major repairs.
9. Responds immediately to STAT requests from physicians for patient ultrasonic examinations and relays findings to referring physicians by phone or by transmittal of examination reports.
10. Maintains files and logs of all procedures, including recording on daily logs, processing reports, filling charts and tapes, pulling tapes, and setting-up for physician review, indexing interesting cases for retrieval.
11. Orders and maintains supplies.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year in Echocardiography with Doppler. Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of echocardiograph equipment and procedures. Ability to maneuver echocardiograph equipment which may exceed 500 lbs. Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing. Registered or registry eligible in Echocardiography. Education: Graduate of an accredited Echocardiography program or equivalent on-the-job training.
