Genius Talent Group, LLC is excited to present a remarkable opportunity for a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join a prestigious healthcare facility. This role focuses on the Cardiac Operating Room, where you will be an integral part of a collaborative and skilled team.
As a Surgical Technologist, you will engage closely with a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including Cardio-thoracic Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Cardiovascular Technologists, and Physician Assistants, all within a cutting-edge surgical environment featuring advanced operating rooms.
This full-time position offers a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, with hours from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, along with a rotating on-call requirement every other weekend. The role includes benefits such as relocation assistance and a sign-on bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate effectively with surgeons and operating room nurses to prepare for and conduct surgical procedures.
2. Ensure the operating room is meticulously set up, with all necessary instruments readily available.
3. Assist in patient preparation for surgery and adeptly pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during operations.
4. Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the equipment and supplies utilized in surgical procedures.
5. Anticipate the surgeon's needs during operations, demonstrating proficiency with the required instruments.
6. Maintain a focus on safety and efficiency throughout the surgical process, ensuring accountability for instruments and supplies post-surgery.
7. Respond to emergency situations with calmness and sound judgment.
8. Take responsibility for cleaning and restocking the operating room, ensuring readiness for subsequent procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Graduation from an accredited Trade School specializing in Surgical Technology.
2. Preference for candidates with military/vocational training or Corpsman experience in operating room settings.
3. While experience in Cardiac Operating Room Surgical Technology is advantageous, we encourage applications from motivated new graduates.
4. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is mandatory.
5. A valid license from the Virginia Board of Medicine (VBOM) is required for Virginia Surgical Technologists.
6. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is essential.
