Assistant Horticulturist

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking an experienced Assistant Horticulturist to join its agronomy team at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and participating in the daily completion of work assignments, assisting with field decisions, and applying fertilizers and pesticides to turf and ornamental flower beds.

• Collaborate with the Horticultural staff to ensure the maintenance of high-quality turf and ornamental flower beds.
• Assist with the application of fertilizers and pesticides, and maintain detailed records of treated areas.
• Conduct regular scouting for issues and problems, including disease, insect damage, irrigation needs, and weed infestation.
• Lead, guide, and direct employees in the maintenance of ornamental flower beds.
• Apply supplemental water as needed to ensure optimal plant health.
• Interact professionally with cabin owners, fellow employees, vendors, and suppliers.

• High school education required, college degree preferred.
• 1 year golf course maintenance experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Demonstrated quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems, efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure, and work flexible hours as required.
