Job Summary:
Air Methods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pilot Rotor Wing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our flight crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within our operational area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and Air Methods policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight checks to verify the aircraft's airworthiness and complete the Daily Flight Log.
- Participate in regular meetings, activities, and projects to ensure seamless operations and community outreach.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
- Commercial & Instrument Rating for the category and class of aircraft.
- First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
- Ability to conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
- Regular scheduled attendance and adherence to Air Methods employment practices and policies.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have flown in the category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months.
- Must maintain a weight not to exceed 250 pounds and be less than 70 years old.
- Must have 2000 total flight hours with a minimum of 1500 flight hours in the category.
- Must have 1000 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time in the category.
- Must have 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time.
- Must have 200 hours of cross-country flight time, at least 50 hours of which were at night.
- Must have 100 hours unaided night as PIC.
