Job Description

Miami Children's Museum is a premier educational institution dedicated to fostering the growth and development of young children in our multicultural community.

The Museum Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and wellbeing of the children in their care, while also planning and executing engaging activities that promote learning and exploration.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the High Scope curriculum, Reggio Emilia approach, and Museum learning principles.
  • Provide a daily schedule that balances quiet and active activities, as well as child-initiated and adult-led activities.
  • Monitor each child's growth, development, and behavior, and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Foster positive attitudes and social skills in children through storytelling, drama, music, and conversations.
  • Encourage scientific inquiry, mathematical reasoning, and social studies through experiments, problem-solving, and classroom events.
  • Support the goals and objectives of the preschool, adhering to policies and procedures outlined in the Staff Handbook.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Museum Studies, or a related field.
  • Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and staff.

The estimated salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
