Job Title: Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Randstad. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for designing, documenting, and prototyping mechanical parts and assemblies for trace chemical detection systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
  • Create technical detail drawings for custom machined, sheet metal, and molded parts.
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procurement and production.
  • Manage procurement of prototype R&D parts by obtaining quotes, placing orders, and addressing vendor inquiries.
  • Assemble parts to create prototype assemblies and systems, perform testing, and identify design modifications.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards for communicating design requirements to machine shops.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), with a focus on machining and familiarity with other manufacturing processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, documenting, and manufacturing mechanical parts and assemblies.
