Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Audio/Video Installation Technician to join our team at Phoenix Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and activating security systems, surround sound systems, and other custom electronics for our high-end clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and service security systems, surround sound systems, and other custom electronics
  • Troubleshoot and repair system malfunctions and false alarms
  • Identify and repair security system wiring issues
  • Learn and understand security systems installed and serviced by Phoenix Systems
  • Handle installation of networking requirements for routers, switches, DVRs, and other network components
  • Communicate with customers to review work orders and provide instruction/training on system functions and operations
  • Accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional components
  • Handle after-hours emergency service calls
  • Communicate pricing for monitoring rate tiers to customers
  • Install, set up, and train homeowners on AV component packages
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with security/AV installations required
  • Have in-depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements
  • Understand cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work in a clean and unobtrusive manner
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices
  • Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities
  • Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening
  • Clear MVR required
  • Technical or vocational related schooling is preferred
Work Environment
  • Active construction sites
  • Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust
