Position Overview:


The Senior Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for providing both managerial and technical oversight to the Electrical team. This role requires extensive expertise in managing intricate technical projects, offering guidance on innovative design methodologies, and directing complex assignments with varying criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the distribution of tasks within the Electrical Design team.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage detailed electrical engineering tasks related to Lighting, Power Distribution, Information Technology (Voice and Data), Access Control, and Electronic Safety and Security, including Fire Alarm systems for various facilities.
  • Prepare project proposals, including scopes, tasks, budgets, and timelines.
  • Conduct site investigations and inspections, providing recommendations to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
  • Ensure the precision and adherence to codes of contract documents and reports.
  • Participate in project meetings, presenting specific engineering aspects of assignments.
  • Engage directly with clients, designers, and contractors regarding project costs, staffing, and schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of project status reports, contract documents, and engineers' estimates by collecting and organizing project data.
  • Identify new client opportunities and assist in marketing efforts for prospective projects.
  • Advise upper management on staffing requirements and support the recruitment process for the Electrical team.

Nights and weekends may occasionally be required with little or no prior notice.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of formal training and experience in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of five years in a leadership role.
  • Experience as a project engineer or group leader on complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit for managing team outputs.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
  • Knowledge of SKM and/or ETAP Systems Analysis is advantageous.
  • Competency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Familiarity with MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS SharePoint is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated success as a lead design engineer on electrical projects, capable of supervising a team of engineers and support staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and applicable codes and standards.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of personnel and management.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet critical deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive client information.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced office environment under pressure.

Licensure:
  • Valid driver's license and maintenance of a satisfactory driving record.
  • Florida Professional Engineer licensure or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • Willingness to obtain licensure in multiple states.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position includes supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:
Typically, work is conducted in a clean, comfortable office environment, with occasional site visits in outdoor settings.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee often sits for extended periods and may occasionally stand, walk, or perform physical tasks. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Personal Protective Equipment:
As required by client site protocols, the candidate will need to utilize appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves, hard hats, safety vests, and other necessary tools.
